The highlight of the winter season has got to be the Hoggetowne Medival Faire. It is over two weekends – usually the last weekend of January and the first weekend of February. The weather is just gorgeous – 60ish (usually) and people travel from all over to participate. It’s the perfect place to people watch with so many colorful and creative costumes. Since I’ve been taking pictures for years at the faire – I wanted to make this visit more interesting – so I engaged my 11 year son to go on a little scavenger hunt with me. We wrote out a list of about 30 items that we had to photograph. Some of the items were: swords, fairy, armor, juggler, bubbles, artists, etc. To make the contest even more challenging – if you photographed the item in RED – you got bonus points! The winner got a stuffed RAT from the RAT MAN for pucking – if you don’t understand what I’m talking about then you must go to the faire. It is on one last weekend -Feb 1st and 2nd. Click here for details. Here are some of the pictures I took the first weekend – my goal was to capture RED and BLUE! I will be at the faire again this weekend. Huzzad!
