Out & About | Micanopy Independence Day Parade

The annual Micanopy Independence Day Parade is one of the highlights of the year for me.  I’ve been going every year since I can remember.  I love Micanopy for it’s small town charm and the local townspeople that are so super nice! For those of you who don’t know about historic Micanopy – it’s located about 10 miles south of Gainesville, Florida and is also where the movie Doc Hollywood staring Michael J. Fox was filmed in 1990.  The town center is filled with antique stores, quaint cafes serving cold ice-cream and iced coffee, and beautiful historic homes and Inns.  I’ve created a slideshow of the parade below – and you can also view and purchase images from the parade online here.
