Hangin out in Destin

Greetings from Destin, Florida. Me and the kids are hangin out with family this week for a much needed summer break. There is nothing like spending time on the beach with the people that you love. A special thank you to the Curry family for extending their hospitality to us - we love you guys! Here are a few shots from today. I’ve had very little computer time so I simply tweeked a bit in Lightroom and exported to my blog. I will be back on Tuesday.

Colleen + Taylor - The musican and the dancer

Meet Colleen + Taylor from New York City! Colleen is a dancer and Taylor is a dancer and musician. Check out Taylor’s web site for a taste of some cool grooves! HBO is even using some of his music in some upcoming shows. We had a little fun while they were here in Gainesville visiting friends and family. This was not a planned e-session. We spotted the great shaded area that is canopied with soaring majestic oak trees. We went really fast because this place is know for water moccasins!!! Yikes. Colleen has the most amazing eyes and you can just feel the love between these two! Good luck guys and I hope to see you soon in the Big Apple!

More of the Best Family

In my last post I introduced you to the Best family. The family were celebrating the 80th birthday of their matriarch, Phyllis. It was such an honor to be a part of this very special family reunion - with family members coming in from all over. While there I also took individual group family portraits in the backyard. Let me mention that the backyard is overlooking Paynes Prairie! What a backdrop. That is where I also shot the engagement photos of Colleen and Taylor - which are coming up in my next post. Meet the Best Family…they truly are the best!

I had the best time photographing the 80th birthday party for a very special Best lady. Family from Hawaii, Boston, Cedar Rapids, and of course Gainesville gathered over the weekend for fun, music, and catching up with family members.
