Personal | Rowan’s 911 Tribute

As part of the Kanapaha Middle School News Crew last year – Rowan created this 911 tribute video that was shared with her school. I watched her work on this project for several days – scouring the Internet for video footage and photographs that she collated in a moving tribute. On the morning she presented this video over the school’s CCTV – I stayed in the lobby and video tapped the reaction of students and teachers – not a dry eye! Almost a year later – I received this touching email from a New York City teacher this evening – and once again – I am moved to tears and ever so proud of my daughter…..Rowan.

“…..Thank you for sharing…as a teacher in NYC, who lost several people close to me on that horrible day it moved me to tears and I will be sharing with my 8th graders as they come back this week. One friend lost was a team mate and firefighter, Chris Mozzillo, and another was the son of a colleague, Terry Gazzani. His mom is now very involved in the Memorial Museum being planned. Again, thank you. I will be posting to my blog so I can share from there…..”

I had a lot of fun putting the 2010 slideshow together this year. This was by far my busiest year and I am so grateful to all my friends and clients that have stayed with me as I transitioned from my portfolio stage into a full blown LLC - Laurel Housden Photography, LLC. It has taken about three years to finally make the transition. During this time, I have found a style that I am comfortable with and hopefully that is reflected in the portraits in the annual slideshow. I look forward to sharing new and exciting adventures on my blog and unique session ideas for 2011.
