The decorations are packed and put away, the kids are off to school, the start of a new year has begun. I have been working on some exciting additions to Laurel Housden Photography including much requested Photography Workshops for mother’s that are interested in learning how to take better pictures of their children! I am crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s and will share the details of my upcoming workshops in the next few days. In the meantime I am proud to share my updated marketing materials that hopefully express my love of all things whimsical and nostalgic!

I found this program today that takes the images from your favorite social site and creates this “flip” style video. I had it upload pictures from my Flickr account which has over 3,000 images. Below is my life in 5 minutes – it using images from both my personal and portfolio collections. I love how I can see how far I’ve come!

This video was made using pictures I uploaded to flickr from the last 3 years. It is a collection of my personal and portfolio pictures. It's amazing to see my life flash before my eyes...I never realized I did so much!

The cooler weather is coming and the beautiful colors of fall have arrived. If you look out the side of the road – you’ll probably notice the wildflowers are starting to bloom again. It is my favorite time to photograph kids and families – especially as it’s not 100 degrees outside! I’ve put together a little fashion inspiration to get you ready for your session with me. There is a little bit for everyone – boudoir too! I have two Holiday Mini Sessions coming up in November that are almost fully booked. Remember, you can always schedule a regular session with me! I’ve got all kinds of locations scouted that include beautiful backdrops for the red leather couch!

Local photographer leads Worldwide Photo Walk – gainesville professional photographer

Yup! For a third year in a row I’m a photo walk leader for the Gainesville area of the Scott Kelby Annual Worldwide Photo Walk. This year it will be on July 24th in downtown Micanopy, Florida between 10-12.

Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk is the world’s largest global social photography event in the history of photography itself. It takes place on the same day around the world where photographers of all walks of life and skill levels gather together, usually in downtown areas to socialize, learn new tips from each other, and explore their corner of the world through photography.

There is no fee to participate but pre-registration is required. Just go to the Worldwide Photo Walk site, find a walk near you, and join in on the fun or you can join my walk in Micanopy directly by going to this link.

Anyone can participate too. All you need is a camera. It doesn’t even matter what kind of camera either. People have showed up with disposables in the past, had a blast, and left with a new appreciation for photography.
