The theme was Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the room was decorated to the nines!!! I’ve never seen such elaborate centerpieces and the cake was just fantastic. You should have seen the candy bar set up for everyone to enjoy! Thank you Emily and beautiful Mama Jamie for inviting me to capture such a special event – Emily’s Quinceanera. It was such a thrill to see it all come together after hearing about it for so long. It was magnificent!!!

For the second year in a row – Last Friday night I  had the distinct honor of being the Event Photographer for the Little Bits of Honey Angels Dinner.  It’s a rare opportunity to socialize with both U.F. coaches. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them together other than this event. Little Bits of Honey was established by Jessica and Eddie Jacobs in honor of their son Lazarus – who died of SIDS. The foundation was set-up to assist in funeral costs to families that have lost a child. More information can be found at Little Bits of Honey.

Tonight is the Grand Opening of Blue Highway Pizza located in the Tioga Town Center in Gainesville Florida. You may know of Blue Highway from their first location in Micanopy, Florida. They are known for their fresh pizzas, cal zones, salads, and more. It is always a treat to eat at Blue Highway and I’m so happy that they are finally opening up a second location only 10 minutes from my house! I was at the Family Opening Night last Thursday and took these images from the evening. It was a packed house but oh was it sooooooo yummy! I highly recommend Blue Highway Pizza for their fresh food and kid friendly (and colorful) atmosphere! No in the Tioga Town Center!

I had the honor of documenting the 1st annual YMCA Ride N’ Tie Two People, One Bike Race on June 13th. The event was held at the new S.W. YMCA fields located off of Archer Road. I’ve never seen this type of rely  before and the director Rick Anderson explained that it’s never been done in Gainesville! Here’s a bit about it” “Indians knew that the fastest way to travel was for one person to take off on horse while the other person started running.  Afer a short a short distance, the rider would tie up the horse…and take off running.  The first runner would mount up the horse, pass the partner, drop the horse and take off again”. So the race is done with bikes instead of horses.

Last week I photographed the dress rehearsal for the Gainesville Youth Chorus annual Sweet Taste of Broadway Concert. It is an amazing concert showcasing all of the talents of these fabulous children. I saw it a couple of years ago and was blown away by everything from the dazzling costumes to the details in the decorations. Unfortunately, I have a photography event that I am shooting, so I won’t be able to catch the show this year. But you can! Here is the link to the Gainesville Youth Chorus with all the details.
