Ahhhh….summer is here and that always seems to bring out the romantic in all of us – especially if you’ve got a bicycle built for two, Jimmy Buffet playing in the background, and ample supply of rum & coke! These images were actually the parents of a recent senior session that I photographed. As I was waiting for my subject to change clothes – I turned around to find this couple taking advantage of the magic of the summer breeze!

We met at Dudley Farm in the early morning hours for this couples holiday session. So romantic!! We were the only ones there - until a pack of boy scouts came! I love the idea of couples getting there portraits done - we seem to forget about the partners in our lives when it comes to getting those end of the year portraits – this couple left the kids at home and now they are going to have super fun and sexy portraits to remind them for years to come how in love they are!!!

On Thanksgiving Day I had a contest to give away a FREE Holiday Package. All you had to do was tell me which Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float you would be and why…and also what your favorite Holiday Movie is. The winner was Sarah! This was her response: “If I could be any float in the Macy’s Day Parade, I would be the Shamu balloon. After all of the good Thanksgiving food, that’s usually how big I feel!! My favorite Christmas movie is “The Christmas Story” – and it’s a very love-hate relationship. It was the Christmas movie we all wanted to watch growing up (“You’ll shoot your eye out” was what we called it, because we could never remember the name!). My husband loves it and I love to “hate” it just because we have to watch it so many times!!!” Well said Sarah.

Shannon & Deeb are expecting

Meet Shannon and Deeb! They are expecting their first baby around Thanksgiving. What a gift to be thankful for! We met at the beautiful gardens at the Thomas Center in downtown Gainesville during the late afternoon hours. I was just amazed at how beautiful Shannon looked as the sun backlit her gorgeous red hair. My favorite pictures are of Shannon and Deeb walking in the sunlight…look for the little flowergirl running behind them..it is one of my favorites. Sharon + Deeb = Great Expectations

A few weeks ago I posted on my blog and website that I was offering FREE Maternity & Newborn Portrait Sessions for my portfolio building and got the chance to do my FIRST maternity session this weekend with Sharon and Deeb. We met at the Thomas Center Gardens as the sun was setting. Sharon is so, so, so beautiful. The light just loves her. Thank you both for being such great sports as I “experimented” with you guys. I am just finishing up going through all the shots and got so excited when I came upon this one. You’re just gonna love them ALL! Check back later this week for the full Sneak Peak and thank you both for making my first maternity session so much fun. I can’t wait to take your daughter’s first pics! Got the girls working on the knitted cocoons! A few weeks ago I was asked by the great Green Cove photographer, Jennifer Adams, if I would like to come out with her to Lake Hampton to second shoot an E-Session. But of course! I could not believe how beautiful the location was and how in love Wesley and Erin are. What a hot, sexy couple! They are getting married in October at this same location – it’s just perfect! Thanks Jennifer for letting me hang out with you.

Meet Brian + Robyn

Meet Brian + Robyn, Gator fans and doggie lovers. In fact they are the owners of 5 dogs! They wanted to try and capture a “family” portrait of them with all 5 of their clan. We headed over to beautiful park in s.w. Gainesville that has an area especially for dogs. Even though it was about 7.30 p.m. it was hot as heck!! We tried for about a half hour and managed a few but trying to get 5 huge dogs to pose at the same time was next to impossible. Congratulations on your engagement and look forward to hooking up with you both at the University for some real sassy pictures with just the two of you!

Colleen + Taylor – The musican and the dancer

Meet Colleen + Taylor from New York City! Colleen is a dancer and Taylor is a dancer and musician. Check out Taylor’s web site for a taste of some cool grooves! HBO is even using some of his music in some upcoming shows. We had a little fun while they were here in Gainesville visiting friends and family. This was not a planned e-session. We spotted the great shaded area that is canopied with soaring majestic oak trees. We went really fast because this place is know for water moccasins!!! Yikes. Colleen has the most amazing eyes and you can just feel the love between these two! Good luck guys and I hope to see you soon in the Big Apple!

More of the Best Family

In my last post I introduced you to the Best family. The family were celebrating the 80th birthday of their matriarch, Phyllis. It was such an honor to be a part of this very special family reunion – with family members coming in from all over. While there I also took individual group family portraits in the backyard. Let me mention that the backyard is overlooking Paynes Prairie! What a backdrop. That is where I also shot the engagement photos of Colleen and Taylor – which are coming up in my next post.
