Meet the Gleichowski Family of Gainesville Florida. They are the Haile Plantation Spotlight on neighbors in the April/May 2012 edition of the Village Journal Magazine. This is my first editorial assignment for the Village and I’m so happy to be a part of their team. I am so happy to share that I am now photographing for the Village Journal Magazine in Gainesville, Florida. I had my first assignment for the April/May 2012 edition for the spotlight Family. Here is just a sneak peek. Aren’t these sisters simply adorable! – I will share more later in the week from this session. The Oct/Nov 2011 Edition of Giggle Magazine is hitting the Gainesville area newsstands today! Wahoo!!! It is chock full of wonderful fun and feisty fall information. I photographed several features for this edition. The first sneak peek is the Heintz Family shown above. I had so much fun photographing this family at their remarkable home in the Duck Pond area. So much love here….Fall is the season of Family! I have a few more openings left for Limited Edition Mini-Sessions – it is the only time of the year that families can participate in a mini session instead of just the kids!

Meet To All My Dear Friends – gainesville, fl band photographer

Meet professional musician Marc Hennessey of the band To All My Dear Friends. Marc is a multi-talented artist that is currently touring the US with his unique blend of electric violin music. I met Marc a few weeks ago at the Haile Plantation Farmer’s Market and we immediately connected. I was honored that he asked me to photograph him for upcoming album artwork and publicity handouts. Afterall, I am known as a family and children photographer and not a band photographer – but he loved my artwork and vision from my portfolio and wanted a fresh outlook. I suggested Micanopy as the backdrop as I wanted to contrast his modern electric violin with the traditional settings of say a fiddler – with his funky green socks and striped tie – I think it was a perfect blend of funk and fun!!!

It seems like every issue of Giggle Magazine gets Bigger and Better! There is some serious talented staff over there from the writers to the graphic designers. I’m thrilled that Leslie Vega is back- she is one spectacular art director. I loved shooting the Back to School Cover and our model was just adorable and fun to work with! Look at that sweet smile!!

Giggle Back to School Issue

We actually photographed this cover in June at St. Patricks High School. It seemed odd at the time to be photographing a Back to School cover since the summer break was just beginning. Because it is summer break – I had Aidan tag along to assist me and learn a bit about what mom does while he is out at school. He was a great helper too – carrying light stands, setting up triggers, holding grey cards, and modeling for test shots. You can tell how thrilled he is with these images!

Kids can be tough to work with but I have to say pets can be a tad bit harder. For the Gator Pets editorial we headed over to The Swamp for Mason’s foray into modeling!

He is simply adorable but it’s hard to bribe a dog with Smarties – you have to be creative and very patient. He did a wonderful job and now has me begging my husband for my very own teacup Maltese! Here are some fun out-takes and images that did not make the issue.

Stars for Sendai was created by 12 year old Gainesville philanthropist, Delaney Rua to benefit the victims of the Tsunami and Earthquake that hit Japan in March 2011. There is a wonderful article featured in the Jun/Jul 2011 of Giggle Magazine that is out now. The editorial in the magazine is photographed by Lifeprints Photography. . I photographed the actual benefit which was held at the Haile Plantation Farmer’s Market in May. I took Aidan with me and we got to meet Delaney and her wonderful family. She is talented beyond words – it’s hard to believe that she is just 12 years old! What an inspiration.

The ladies have worked super hard to achieve their goals and it has been amazing to document their progress. I could barely recognize them the night of the reveal ceremony! Such beautiful ladies – inside and out! With each new issue of Giggle Magazine – I update my full page advertisement with new faces and places. I had the help of Aidan this time – who insisted that I return his fresh face in the center of the ad – I think he is starting to get a little jealous of all the beautiful people that I’m photographing and wanted to make sure I don’t forget him! How could I? He is the freshest face of all!
