My first set of triplets and I photographed them this season in the wildflower field! These 5 year old kiddos are so much fun and I can only imagine what joy and mischief they must bring their Mama! When they weren’t laughing and playing – they were discovering the wonder of the wildflower field! Thank you so much for trusting me to capture this very special moment in time for your family. I truly LOVED meeting these adorable children!

I spent the day on Sunday with a full schedule of wildflower sessions. Thanks to my brand new assistant, Savannah, we captured the magic and beauty of this incredible field. The children were whimsical, magical, and full of fun! There are many favorites that I will be blogging in the next few posts – but I wanted to share this one with you to start your Monday off! I’m going out there today to photograph my own children – I”m praying that they are as cooperative as the kids I photographed on Sunday.

I am so happy to share that I am now photographing for the Village Journal Magazine in Gainesville, Florida. I had my first assignment for the April/May 2012 edition for the spotlight Family. Here is just a sneak peek. Aren’t these sisters simply adorable! – I will share more later in the week from this session. With spring break we decided to just slow down, stay close to home, and catch up with friends. We decided to take a drive yesterday and found this nifty spot with flowers along the edge of a field. Rowan and Robin (soul sisters) took their guitar and ukulele out and played a few tunes for the fluttering butterflies! If they ever decide to cut an album – we’ve already got the album artwork.

Mazol Tov! to Josh. He had his Bar Mitzvah last weekend. I was thrilled to be able to not only photograph the party (blog entry coming up next) at the Natural History Museum but also his formal portraits. We staged the ceremony a couple weeks ago so that way we could have some wonderful memories of him reading from the beema as well as some nice portraits with his family.

I used OCF (off camera flash) to create this dramatic fashion look for Rowan. It is at the same location as the previous post in a field in s.w. Gainesville near Haile Plantation. I took an amazing lighting course last year with Utah Photographer Nichole Van all about off camera flash (OCF). If you are a photographer wanting to get comfortable with OCF I highly recommend her Lighting Workshops and if you can’t get to one of her workshops – then I recommend the Lighting Workshop in a Box. It is the most comprehensive instruction on OCF available and is totally complete with everything you need to know to get started creating dramatic portraits using off camera flash! The best part about using OCF is the ease of editing. They came SOOTC looking great but I also use Nichole Van’s studio actions to add just a wee bit of contrast and color.
