It can be tough being the child of a photographer. My children are usually my first models when it comes to practicing new strobe techniques or checking out the light in a new location. I know it must be tough for them…as I can be very demanding and forgetful of their short attention spans. I was reminded of this while going through some photographs this week.
I took Aidan, Rowan, and bunny Maggie to the “secret garden” at the University of Florida. I thought that I would practice balancing strobe with sunset but then realized that I arrived way too early to get the full effect. The sun was still way to high and it was very hot. The session started very nice and we were having lots of fun watching Maggie play in the flower garden.

Maggie the Rabbit - For those of you that follow my blog - this is the rabbit that Rowan won this past spring at the Palatka Blue Crab Festival.
As you can probably tell from the sweat beading from Rowan’s face - it was very hot!
Aidan started to get really cranky and frustrated with having to spend anymore time “posing” in the hot, hot, hot, sun…”I wanna go home”, “I’m so hot mommy”! Can you tell my kids inherited my drama gene.

I could not resist...Aidan was shielding his eyes because he did not want me to get a good picture of him.
I finally relented and packed up my gear and took my hard working models to Coldstone Creamery for some blueberry batter ice cream…my favorite.
Here are a few of Rowan and Maggie….she just adores this bunny… how could you not.
