Day 1 Cape Cod Workshop

So far so good. The weather is crisp, sunny, and cool! Just the way I like it for a Fall weekend. The plane ride to Boston went very well. Aaron and I arrived in Boston around 1.45 pm. on Saturday. We headed straight to E.P Levine Photo Store in the heart of the docklands of Boston. Aaron and I both purchased the Lee ND .9 ND Filter 4 x 6 cards that Moose Peterson suggested. We had them overnighted to E.P. Levine’s because we could not find them anyware online. We also purchased the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. Below are the very first pictures with our new lenses.

On our way to Cape Cod - we decided to hit the scenic route (6A) and were loving the colors of the trees, the Halloween and Harvest decorations on the homes and shops. The sun was just setting and we found a really picturesque cemetary called Lothrap Hill. We pulled over and really had fun with our new 50mm 1.8 lenses. Below are the pictures of the cemetary. I dedicate this section to my 10 year old daughter Rowan…she will know what I mean.

After the sunset in the cemetary, we continued our trip to Providence and stopped for a fantastic dinner in a really cozy restaurant. We had the Lobster Bisque and Seafood Chowder Soup to warm our bones ( I can’t believe I can say that now..since it’s been so hot in Gainesville) and we both had the fish for dinner.
We finally arrived at our hotel at about 8 p.m. and checked in. We ventured out to downtown Providence Town. It is a charming little town with lots of art and antique shops. Most everyone were watching some baseball game…I think it was the Red Sox..but I am not sure…but I do know that they lost…oh well.
We stopped for coffee and peanutbutter cake and Aaron took a picture of a very tired Laurel.

Very tired

And I took this one:
P-Town Cape Cod

We had a good night’s sleep and woke up with a bright sunny day. It is the first time seeing the town in broad daylight. We are right on the water and it is beautiful. We workshop actually starts today at 2 p.m. and we have seen some photographers starting to come in. We are excited to meet everyone today.

Check back on Monday for the contining story!!
