I am starting to feel really good about purchasing the D300. I’ve had the rare opportunity of several photo ops this week - I almost feel like a Pro! The quality of the pictures is just outstanding. The auto white balance is 99% spot on! It just feels so good in my hands. I am still using Lightroom and PS3 for my post processing. I danced around Capture NX for a bit but I am putting that aside for a while until I have more time to explore it. I have been using more Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 and I am just amazed at the ease and quality of the filter effects. My favorite is the Remove Color Cast and the Pro Contrast. I also purchased Slideshow Pro for Lightroom and created my first presentation with it. You can check it out here.
It is a series of pictures I took at my son’s school this week. The school has a yearly tradition of the entire school planting sunflower seeds in February and then using the gigantic sunflowers as part of the graduation ceremony in June. The school has children from pre-school up to 8th grade. Those 8th graders will be graduating and moving on to High School in the fall. Make sure to check out the complete slideshow but here are a few of my favorites from the day.

My son Aidan is the one in the blue shirt. The children plant sunflower seeds.

Great toning on the hands shot - it works because the tone is the color of dirt. Nice job.
Please plant as many sunflowers as possible. It is also great to see the kids having fun. It is a coincidence that you would post this since I just had an album of sunflowers featured this weekend on Webshot. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy your images here.
