The Scottsman - Hoggetowne Medieval Faire

The Scottsman

I captured this man selling kilts at the Hoggetowne medieval faire in Gainesville, Florida. He was a heavy set man and he looked very tired. He was sitting down just eyeing the crowd. He had no idea I was shooting him. There were several people in a period of about 10 minutes that came up to him to hug or shake his hand. I’m not sure if he is a local celebrity or just real good at making kilts. He finally noticed that I was shooting him and he gave me this look.  I know candids are cool but I really love the connection that eye contact can produce!

The tones are gorgeous and the focus is sharp as a tack! What lens is this?

    Hi Pat,

Thank you. I used a Sigma 28-300 3.5-4.5 lens on a Nikon D70s I PP with Nik Filters.

    Cheers,
    Laurel
