I’m still laid up with the “flu” since the weekend and now I have my husband, 5 year old and 12 year old home with me today. I can’t believe I have the D-300 sitting beside me and all I can manage to do with it is play with the menu settings and take pictures of my sick family. No fun. I have managed to get some great information from the D-300 Flickr Group. It has been extremely helpful. Check out the Flickr Group here.
After reading about Joe McNally’s new blog today and all the hype associated with his new book entitled, The Moment it Clicks, I decided to revisit some of the photos I took during the Digital Landscape workshop Series in Cape Cod last October. On the second day of our workshop, Joe gave a talk on taking candid shots and approaching strangers. He gave us an assignment that evening to venture into Provincetown Harbor and take some people shots. Even with all my experience as a Mobile Disc Jockey, I was very nervous about approaching strangers and asking to take their photos. I managed to use my “spark” to get some great shots of Marcia. I met this woman in the harbor master parking lot as the sun was starting to set. She is a local musician with tons of character - just like the city she resides in. I just started snapping and talking to her for a few minutes.
and then I aimed my camera down to the ground and caught this great shot of her boots. I’ve heard there made for walkin’
Province-town is such a colorful city of people and character. I ventured to the Marina and took some great pictures of the boats docked. It was a great ending to a great day.
