HDR Coco-cola display at the MOAS

HDR Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach

I am very proud of this HDR photo. I think it is the best I have taken so far. I took Rowan and Aidan to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach Florida and shot this photo with my Canon G6. I bought a mini-tripod that I keep always on the camera for just this scenerio. I did not even think about doing HDR while at the museum - so it was good that I was prepared for just this shot. Several people commented on what a good idea it was that I have the mini tripod on the camera - they have never thought of that. It is the best $14 investment. I just put the camera on the floor - set up the bracketed - set up the timer - and pressed the button.

Check out www.moas.org for more information about the Museum of Arts and Sciences. It is a nice quiet museum that is off the beat and track compared to all the tourist traps in the Daytona Beach area. There was lots to do with the kids - enough to fill 4 hours AND there was hardly anyone around on the Sunday we went. The best part is that they have a Planetarium that shows several movies a day. Bonus - clean bathrooms~

    Hi Lauren:

Enjoyed hearing you on the TDPS (I’m about 10 mins into it; I listen on way to/from work).

Question about your HDR photo: Did you take multiple shots at different exposures or did you use 1 RAW shot and adjust the exposures in ACR and then use those outputs? I’ve seen arguments both ways on this. Your result above is quite good.

    Thanks!

‘m glad that you enjoyed the show! I had a lot of fun doing it. When I do HDR photos I use my Canon G6 on a tripod and shoot three exposures in Aperture Priority. I use Photomatrix to blend. Here is a great link to get you started:

I heard you can use just 1 raw file - but I have not tried it yet.

Good Luck and Keep me Posted on your progress!

    Cheers,
    Laurel
