Although I don’t specialize in wedding photography – I do love second shooting weddings for other photographers. As a second shooter – my responsibility is usually to back-up the principle photographer, photographing the groomsmen, detail shots, and capturing various angles that the principle photographer would not be able to photograph. An example of this would be if the principle photographer is taking group shots with a wide angle lens – I would be capturing details and candids with a close-up or long lens. Second shooting for me is fun because I get a chance to shoot outside my normal range and hang out with great photographers without the resonsbility and the stress that comes with all the details and the album making!! I get many requests to schedule weddings – but in all honestly – I simply don’t have the time to commit on such an important occasion. I will schedule small courthouse weddings and or dinner receptions – just in case you’re wondering.
A couple of weeks ago I headed to Tampa Florida to second shoot with one of my very good friends Jeanine McLeod - who is an amazing photographer. She owns Cloud 9 Studios in Tampa – check it out here. It was one of the hottest days on record for a October Wedding but all went smoothly and I loved working with Jeanine! Enjoy the photos.
