As I drive around Gainesville I am starting to see a slight change of color in the trees and an abundance of gorgeous wildflowers but it’s still so hot. I was starting to get seriously jealous of the colorful fall images being blogged from my out of state photographer friends that live up North and wondered how I could capture such fun family fall portraits in 90 degree weather!
I just happened to stumble upon the most fun fall place in Gainesville – The Coon Hollow Corn Maze. I was pleasantly surprised as I drove down the long dirt road that leads to an amazing field with a picturesque farmhouse on top of the hill. The family over at Coon Hollow Farm have created an enchanting fall playground complete with tall hay bales that the kids can jump around in, huge piles of corn kernels to roll around in, shoot the pumpkins (with paint balls), tire swings, music, train rides, hay rides, farm animals, a gorgeous green and lush corn maze with towering sunflowers that frame the maze, a country kitchen complete with the best chili and cheeseburgers I’ve eatin in a long time, and a general store where you can buy grandma’s homemade goodies. I’m not getting paid for this – I promise!! I truly fell in love with this place – and more importantly – the kids did too (as you will see with the pictures below).
If you would like to schedule a photo session with me to capture your family enjoying a beautiful fall day – I will be back at Coon Hollow Corn Maze on Sunday, October 11th and Saturday October 24th. The session fee is $75 and includes a 10 x 20 art mounted storyboard of your favorite (up to 4) images, and a custom slideshow of your entire session available for download in my new iTunes Store. Yes, you heard right – from now on – all my clients receive a free custom slide show of their entire session that you can download from my iTunes Store and view on your computer, iphone, and ipod. The best part is – so can your friends and relatives!
Subscribe to my iTunes Store here.
To book a session at the Corn Maze – please email me at laurel@laurelhousden.com and put “Coon Hollow Corn Maze” in the subject line. Let me know how many people in your group and what day you are interested in. The session times will be on the hour starting at 1 p.m.
I also have a few spots left during the week at Coon Hollow Corn Maze for regular photography sessions – the maze is not open to the public but I have special permission to use the backdrops of the vintage trucks. PLEASE take note that the Farm is NOT open to the public during the week, so please do not go there to take your own pictures.
Here a few pictures I took of my own children having a blast at the Corn Maze last weekend as well as some other clients having a blast at the field! Make sure to click on the link at the bottom to view the slideshow of our day!
