We finally got out of the house last night and headed over to Gainesville’s best kept secret for pizza – Satchel’s Pizza. Satchel’s is world famous for their homemade hand tossed pizzas with all the best, freshest ingredients including artichokes, pesto, meatballs, spinach…need I say more! The wait is always at least an hour but half the fun of heading over to Satchel’s is hanging out either in the playground or checking out the coolest retro toys in their “junk museum”. Lightning Salvage is the name of the junk museum…it’s kinda like a cool, hippie version of the Cracker Barrel. Where else can you pick up those hard to find Jesus bandages.

We had so much fun investigating all the unique items at the shop. Next door a blues band was playing and the kids were hooked on the Bunche Ball set up by the playground. I only brought my 50mm 1.8 lens and it’s great with low light…but I am reminded of how much I need that 17-55mm 2.8 lens I have been drooling for.
Here are some pictures from inside the Lightning Salvage Museum and Junk Store:

Here’s a picture of my dear husband, Stuart. Can you tell how relaxed we were! The weather was great and we sat outside and enjoyed our pizza. The kids are always wiped by the time we left and even fell asleep in the car. Make sure you check out more pictures and a little more about Satchel’s Pizza here.
