The Housden Holiday Portrait Session

Here it is just one week to go until Christmas Day and I finally got the tree up and the strength to attempt the Family Holiday Portrait with my pack of 3. I have to say it went much better than I thought. We went to Disney over the weekend and purchased matching Mickey Holiday Head Gear – very cute with the ears. At 8 p.m. with the promise of holiday cookies to eat after the session if they were “good” – I started snapping. I gave up using the tripod after 5 minutes along with all hopes of making the cover of “Your Life is Perfect’ magazine.  I used my new Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens and I was all over the place – but mostly on the floor.  We had loads of fun as you can see in the crazy faces of my children. I have no idea why Aidan chose this particlar photo session to premier his newest crazy smile. Oh ,but the twinkle in those eyes hasin’t changed one bit! I think I captured the spirit of the evening – but most importantly the beautiful, warm, and still innocent spirts  of my three beautiful children. Thank you my darlings –  Madison, Rowan, and Aidan – I love you so much!

Just a quick note about the pictures – I processed entirely in Adobe Lightroom.

Stella - I loved all the pictures, especially 1 and 4. You have a very good looking family, they are such a happy group. The photography is good too!December 20, 2007 – 2:00 am

Peter - Merry Christmas,

Great shots !

Enjoy the moment, while the children are young.

Went out last evening with my “kids” 32 and 30 , along with one husband and girl friend and my wife and as I was enjoying the company as adults, I was reminiscing about the fun “I had” with all the “toys” at Christmas when they were young.

Memory’s are gifts and photography helps capture those memorys for every. Enjoy !

Also thanks, for the visit and comment left on my site.December 19, 2007 – 2:38 pm

Doug - Cute poses and solid processing, please please please don’t take this the wrong way, but if you get them to look up at you you’ll avoid that double chin look! :-) But I like the consistency from one photo to the next, that’s not something to understate.December 18, 2007 – 10:17 pm

Scott Sherman - These look great! I can’t pick my favorite! The expressions on the top one are priceless, and I love the 4th one, where one daughter is lying down. I also love the B&W – those are some creamy tones of grey. How did you do it?December 18, 2007 – 4:24 pm
