The photos from this season’s holiday sessions are done and sent out, the tree is up, the children are off from school, it’s officially the Holiday Season at the Housden House! Later this afternoon as it starts to get dark, we are going to load the car up with treats, holiday music, kids, and of course my camera as we drive around the area looking at holiday displays around the Gainesville area.
The Gainesville Sun has a wonderful interactive map online that not only shows a placeholder for all the houses that have great light displays – but a picture of the actual display. You can check it out here
Last year I took pictures of the most amazing holiday display over in Melrose Florida. I happened to stumble across it on my way back from St. Augustine and I was just so amazed that I went back the next day with my best friend and fellow photographer Aaron Bailey to take pictures of it. Aaron actually did a spectacular Virtual Tour of the entire scene! I highly recommend that you visit the Melrose House Display. If you go before Christmas…you can even take your picture with Santa Clause! Here is a link to Aaron’s Virtual Tour. Here is the link to my blog post last year of my pictures from this house which includes tips on how I actually got the picture.
I plan on going to see the Melrose Lights again tonight between 6 and 8 – so come on over and say hi – I will be the one with a camera and tripod! If you see me and come on over – tell me that you read my blog and I will give you a gift certificate for a FREE Portrait Session and 11 X 14 on the spot! I will have the gift certificate in my pocket ready to give to you. You gotta be the first one!
Here’s a picture from last year to get you in the mood!
