Review – Sto-Fen Omni Bounce

I recently purchased a Sto-Fen Omni Bounce for my SB-800.  It made Scott Kelby’s  Gonzo Holiday Gear Guide. I recently lost my difuser cap that came with the SB-800 – so I picked this up for $19.95 directly from Stofen.com  (Scott has it listed as $16.95 in his gear guide).  I do have Gary Fong’s Lightsphere - which I LOVE (thank you Aaron). However, I don’t like to take it everywhere because it is big and calls attention to my photography. I did a couple test shots with the Sto-Fen Omni Bounce as you can see below. It spreads the light nicely when you have your strobe angled at 45 degrees. For less than $20 bucks – you can’t go wrong. the pictures were straight out of the camera – I did not edit so you can see the differences.

Will - Hi Laurel,

Are the shots of your son labelled correctly? The first photo says it’s without the Omni-Bounce, but the lighting is a lot softer and more even than the second photo which is labelled as being with the Omni-Bounce and looks to be quite harshly lit.May 18, 2008 – 4:13 pm
