This post has nothing to do with photography but the power of the beauty industry. I found this video created by Dove entitled “Onslaught”. It is 1 minute video highlighting the extremes the beauty industry has gone to get us  to buy their products to look more beautiful.  I am the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, 12 and 10 - and I remind them everyday how beautiful they are INSIDE and out. I have also shared with them how the magazine industry “photoshops” their models to create the look of perfection that we all know is impossible!  As a point…I have shown them several web sites that specialize in photo retouching. The Before and After galleries really gets the point across to them!  Greg Apodaca has some really great portrait retouching before and after galleries as well as some great commercial before and after shots.
